ABOUT THE AWEN' GATHERING PLACE
Awen’ is a Wendat word for “water”. The Awen’ Gathering Place is a space of sharing, learning, teaching, ceremony, celebration and contemplation created by the Town of Collingwood to advance recognition of the past and present Indigenous Peoples and their heritage legacy in Collingwood and the surrounding area. The concept for the Awen’ Gathering Place is based on the teachings of the renowned educator, artist and poet Dr Duke Redbird of the Saugeen Ojibway First Nation. The design links the seven grandfather teachings to the seven layers of the food forest. The Seven Grandfather Teachings are an ancient Anishinaabe/Midewiwin teaching on the ethics of proper behaviour and conduct or ‘the good way of life’.
PRINTING:
Your print will be professionally printed on premium Lustre photo paper using archival inks. Lustre paper has a subtle sheen and best shows the rich colours and depth in tones of the image. Images are printed with a ¼” white border within the size listed making them easier to mat and frame.
Each print is hand stamped on the back of the print. Unless noted in the description, all prints are open-edition prints. This allows us to keep our prints affordable.
Cropping: Images will be cropped at the photographers discretion to fit the print size ordered.
